The Marlin Model XS7Y is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 7mm-08 Rem., .243 Win. and .308 Win. The XS7Y is one of eight centerfire bolt-action rifles produced by Marlin, but what makes it different is that it features a black synthetic stock with molded checkering. The only difference between XS7Y and XL7S is that the XS7Y has a blued barrel instead of stainless steel.

Features include Marlin’s patented Pro-fire trigger system that allows the shooter to externally adjust the trigger. It has a button-rifled barrel, meaning a shaped metal button tool is passed through the barrel under high pressure in order to carve the grooves. It also has a recoil pad and pillar-bedded stock. Pillar bedded stocks use aluminum or metal sleeves against which the action screws can be tightened, providing an overall tighter fit between the stock and the action.

The XS7Y is recommended for large-game hunting.
