Bisley Single-Action Revolver

ruger Bisley Single-Action Revolver

The Ruger Bisley is a large-frame single-action revolver chambered in .45 Colt and .44 Mag. The Bisley is part of the New Model Blackhawk line. Ruger introduced the Blackhawk in the mid-1950s because cowboy movies were growing in popularity in turn so were cowboy pistols.

At first, Ruger introduced its rimfire revolver, the Single-Six Revolver, but after awhile the public wanted something a little more comparable in size and caliber to the famous Colt Single Action Army (aka the Peacemaker), so Ruger introduced the Blackhawk.

What makes the Bisley unique to the Blackhawk series is that it has an extra long barrel, lovely Western-style Rosewood grips and engraved cylinder. It gets its name from the notable Bisley rifle range located in Surrey, England. Surrey is the current home of the UK’s National Rifle Association.

The Bisley features blued alloy steel construction. The Bisley is equipped with a rear sight that’s adjustable for wind and elevation, and a ramp front sight.
