The Sig Sauer P220 Match Elite is a semi-automatic large-frame pistol chambered for .45 ACP. The P220 Match Elite differs from the P220 Match in that it has a stainless steel frame and slide with black aluminum anodized grips. Otherwise it has adjustable target sights and features Sig’s Short Reset Trigger System (SRT) with 60 percent reduction in trigger reset. This means the trigger does not need to travel fully forward position in order to fire again after the initial shot.
The P220 models use the same action as Browning’s Hi-Power pistol, which is a locked-breech system where the recoil is absorbed by a spring and guide rod rather than the frame.
Other features include a short Picatinny rail for easy mounting of accessories as well as the Sig four-point safety system. This system includes decocking lever, so shooters can switch from a double-action or single-action trigger. It has a patented automatic firing pin safety block and a safety intercept notch, which is an internal safety block, and trigger bar disconnector.
Eyewear is both crucial for safety and shooting performance. Many people go through an array of pairs before finding a good set. At Guns.com, we did the legwork to help you find the ones that will work for you.
