Model 57 Classic

The Smith & Wesson Model 57 Classic is a large-frame revolver chambered in .41 Mag. The Model 57 is an early S&W magnum model and was originally designed as a target revolver, but now S&W markets it in the Classic N-frame (or large-frame) series instead.

The Model 57 has a carbon steel construction with either a blued or nickel finish. Also, a 4″ or 6″ barrel. It has a beautiful checkered squared walnut grip, an adjustable rear sight with a white outline and a pinned red ramp front sight. It is a heavier handgun, but, again, it is intended to fire magnum rounds.

The .41 Mag. falls between .357 Mag. and .44 Mag., but isn’t as popular and because of that it tends to cost more. However, it is a popular round for handloading, where shooters reload their own cartridges. S&W recommends the Model 57 for collecting, leisure shooting, home protection and hunting animals that weigh more than a hundred pounds.
