Model SD9

The Smith and Wesson SD9 is a large pistol chambered in 9mm. Smith and Wesson is the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 1852 by Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson.
The SD9 includes stainless steel construction and a polymer frame. Additional features include an under-barrel rail for mounting accessories, textured polymer grips, and a melonite protective finish. Melonite is a metallic mineral closely associated with nickel (technically, a telluride of nickel). The SD9 utilizes a Tritium front night sight and steel 2-dot rear sight. The SD9 also employs a 10-round magazine.

The SD9 is recommended for home protectional and recreational shooting.
