M&P15T Tactical

The Smith and Wesson M&P15T is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO. The “T” signifies tactical, as the gun features a number of tactically-styled inclusions. Gas operated feeding systems capture gases released from the firing of a round, and use this energy to push the bolt rearward, thereby ejecting the spent casing and chambering a new round.  Smith and Wesson is the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. Headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts, the company was founded in 1852 by Horace Smith and Daniel B. Wesson.

The M&P15T features a 6-position telescoping buttstock and 30-round detachable Magpul brand PMAG magazine. The M&P15T also includes an aluminum receiver and chromed bolt carrier and gas key. The M&P15T also features a 10″ anti-twist, free-floating accessory rail. The M&P15T also utilizes folding Magpul brand front and rear sights (MBUS), and utilizes a melonite barrel finish and a hard coat black anodized receiver finish. Melonite is a metallic mineral closely associated with nickel (technically, a telluride of nickel). The M&P15T also includes a muzzle break for reduced muzzle jump and felt recoil.

The M&P15T is recommended by S&W for competitive, recreational, and law enforcement applications.
