This year has seen many major events canceled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big Sandy Shoot, an event that takes place twice a year near the town of Wikieup, Arizona, is the latest victim.

On Aug. 6, 2020, organizers posted on the website as well social media that the shoot, planned for Oct. 16 through Oct. 18, 2020, was officially canceled. The cancellation of Big Sandy comes a little over a month after Knob Creek Range canceled its machine gun shoot scheduled for Oct. 9 through Oct. 11.

While Knob Creek and Big Sandy are on hold, some smaller, outdoor events, like the Green Mountain Boys machine gun shoot that took place on Jul. 19 in Eden, Vermont, are still being held. The Green Mountain Boys event saw a 60 percent turn out, and was such a success, another shoot is planned for mid-September of this year.

Even though so many great events have been canceled, it doesn’t mean we can’t sit back and enjoy some videos from previous years. A selection is posted below. Enjoy.
