Georgia-based Heritage Manufacturing arrived at SHOT Show 2022 in Las Vegas this week with some curious new rimfire single-action revolvers.
New to the Taurus subsidiary's offerings this year is the suppressor-readyish Rough Rider "Tactical Cowboy “and the chopped down and bird's-head gripped Barkeep Boot.
Rough Rider TC
The Rough Rider TC features a top Picatinny rail for those who want to put an optic on the wheel gun plinker. It also has an elevated front sight with a fiber optic element to complement the rear notch that continues through the Pic rail.
But wait, there's more.
It also has carbon fiber (simulated) grips and a 1/2x28TPI threaded muzzle for use with muzzle devices or suppressors. Yes, it is a revolver, and you still have a cylinder gap, so it isn't going to be as quiet as a suppressed pistol, but the revolver, especially coupled with the 6.5-inch barrel and subsonic ammo options, could prove fairly quiet.
The MSRP on the Heritage Rough Rider Tactical Cowboy is $212.88.
Barkeep Boot
Further shrinking the company's already diminutive Barkeep series of snub-nosed single-action rimfire revolvers, the Barkeep Boot shifts from "waistcoat carry" to "boot carry" via a combination of a 1.68-inch barrel (sans front sight) and factory bird’s head grip.
The price on the Barkeep Boot ranges from $196 to $205, with the snake grips pulling down the bigger price point.
As an alternative for those who want to add a bird's head grip to the standard Barkeep, it is a simple swap out and Heritage sells them for about $30.
