ATI Debuts New Bison Series Bolt Guns

South Carolina-based American Tactical has a series of hybrid AR bolt-action Bison rifles inbound in several flavors.

The series includes a supershort-action model, the MRX – which is chambered in .300 Blackout, 7.62x39, and 5.56 NATO – and the short-action TRX model, which comes in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor. The MRX runs AR-15 style magazines, while the TRX uses AR-10 mags, on a Remington 700-series chassis. Weight is well under 8 pounds for even the chunkiest models.

The rifles are made by Black Creek Labs in Ontario and were designed originally to be "comfortable in its scabbard on the side of a horse, packed, slung or mounted onto a Utility Vehicle for ranch, range or backcountry duty."

The MSRP on the ATI Bison series starts at $799 for the MRX and steps up to $999 for the TRX variants. The company says they will be on the market this fall – right in time for hunting season.
