Century has spent the past decade bringing in a line of Kalash pistols made by CUGIR in Romania. Branded under the Draco name, they have included 7.62x39mm standard, Micro and Mini Dracos, as well as a blowback 9mm dubbed the NAK9 that accepted Glock 17/19 mags.
Taking the latter as a base to work with, the new Draco 9S retains all the cool stuff about the NAK9 – which has suddenly disappeared from Century's website – and replaced them with a more AK-looking Scorpion mag.
You gotta admit, it looks more natural with a banana mag. (Photo: Century Arms)
The Century Draco 9S is 6.27 pounds in weight but brings an 11.14-inch barrel with a muzzle nut, wood furniture, rear adjustable sights, and a has a short Pic rail atop a hinged dust cover. (Photo: Century Arms)
The overall length is 19.13 inches, and it includes an enhanced trigger group and features a last-round bolt hold open in addition to the Scorpion magazine adapter. Note the rear sling swivel mount. (Photo: Century Arms)
Century had the Draco 9S quietly hanging out alongside the regular Draco line in Houston last month at the NRA Annual Meeting, just below the NAK9. Note the difference between the "straight stick" NAK9 and the new Draco 9S. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)
It complements the 7.62x39mm Draco models, which Century has been bringing in since 2010.
The new Century Arms Draco 9S ships with a single Magpul PMAG 35 EV9 Scorpion magazine.
