  4. Heritage Enters Lever Gun Biz with Trio of New Settler .22s

Georgia-based Heritage Manufacturing is expanding its offerings to include a new line of rimfire lever-actions. 

The new Settler line of wood-stocked cowboy guns includes a Mare's Leg pistol with a 10-round magazine, a Compact carbine with a 13-round mag, and the full-sized Settler rifle with a 15-round capacity.

All feature alloy steel barrels with a polished black oxide finish and aluminum alloy frames with a simulated case-hardened finish. Buckhorn rear sights, a front post, and a cross-bolt manual safety are also standard across the line.

The Settler Mare's Leg has a 12.5-inch barrel for an overall length of 23.25 inches. Weight is 4.25 pounds. There is a saddle ring on the left-hand side of the receiver. Note the Heritage "Circle H" cartouche burned into the wood.

The Settler Compact has a 16-inch barrel with an overall length of a very handy 31.9 inches while hitting the scales at just over 5 pounds.

The full-sized Settler rifle sports a 20-inch barrel, perfect for casual plinking, small game hunting, and marksmanship instruction. The overall length is 37.9 inches, while the weight is 5.35 pounds, making it still very portable. Note the carbine and rifle-length models ship with sling swivel studs. 

 

"Heritage's introduction of the new Settler series is guided by our vision to honor the authentic spirit of the American West," said Laura Prieto, the company's Marketing Communications Coordinator. "We believe this line of rifles will resonate with our customers as well as our beloved Rough Rider revolvers have."

The MSRP on the new Heritage Manufacturing Settler series ranges from $474 for the Mares Leg to $494 and $499 for the long guns.
