A curious new line of striker-fired polymer-framed pistols headed to the U.S. was on display recently at a trade show in Europe.
While walking the aisles at the 50th Annual IWA Outdoor Classics in Germany last month, Guns.com met with Turkish gunmaker Adler Arms and spoke to them about the AD-9 series.
What's the AD-9?
Well, at first look it appears to be a 9mm Gen 3 Glock 17/19 style clone but with a few key differences. Among these changes are steel sights, steel mags (Beretta 92 pattern), some XD-style ergos, and what feels like a better-than-average trigger.
Adler, which also makes a ton of different rifles and shotguns that it brings into the U.S. under its Nevada-based Akdal Arms imports banner, catalogs the AD-9 back at home in something like 15 different variants ranging across assorted colors and options to include slides with lightening cuts, optics footprints, and threaded barrels.

...as well as some that are a bit more refined.
Almost like a Wish dot com Shadow Systems or ZEV.
But you have to admit, some of these don't look too bad.
And if they run, could spark an interest akin to what Canik has achieved – or at least spark some bigger players to add features and options in a sort of catch-up scenario. Either way, it could be a win for gun owners.
Are the AD-9s headed to America? You better believe it. They have already been announced and branded as the inbound $400ish Black Aces Alpha 9, and you can bet that other importers will pop up with these as well.
So, when you do come across them, remember that you heard about them here first.
