In honor of production ramping up at the company's new flagship facility in the Volunteer State, S&W has a new series of M&P9 pistols for 2024.

The special series of four models all carry a laser engraved Tri-Star emblem on the barrel, while the pistol slides bear the company's new Maryville, Tennessee. As such, the handguns are a great follow-up for Smith's new Volunteer series ARs, so named in obvious tribute to the 16th state.

This new Tennessee pistol variants includes two (with and without a thumb safety) 3.1-inch barrel M&P9 Shield Plus micro-compacts, a 4-inch M&P9 M2.0 Compact, and a 4.25-inch M&P9 M2.0 Full-Size. Other than the cosmetic enhancements, they are standard models.

"M&P striker-fired pistols have remained a cornerstone of Smith & Wesson’s legacy over the years and embody our brand’s ethos of reliability, performance, and durability," said Andrew Gore S&W's Product Manager, Handguns. "These extensions proudly bearing the engraved Tri-Star emblem are a tribute to our historic move and the rich heritage of our new home in Tennessee."

The company first announced the $120 million move to Tennessee from its long-time home in Springfield, Massachusetts in September 2021, and broke ground for its new 650,000-square-foot facility just two months later. Guns.com was on hand last October when the company held its grand opening celebration and cut the ribbon on the new plant.
