KelTec is known for unique designs geared toward maximizing the ability of the firearm. The KelTec KSG410 is just that: a .410-bore shotgun with a high capacity built into a slim and compact design.

The KSG410

KelTec has two shotgun designs: the slim KS7 and the high-capacity KSG. The KS7 is an extremely thin and compact bullpup shotgun, originally chambered for 12-gauge with a seven-round capacity.

The KSG built on that design, doubling the magazine tubes and thus the capacity to 14 rounds. The bullpup design makes it ideal for both left and right-handed shooters while keeping the firearm extremely short even with the 18.5-inch barrel.

A mag selector switch lets the shooter choose to feed from the left or right tube, or alternate from both.

The KSG410 is sort of a combination of both shotguns. It has the capacity of the KSG, yet the thin nature of the .410 cartridge makes it as thin as the KS7. This shotgun features dual magazine tubes and a 14-round capacity. The tubes have a selector switch so the user can fire from either tube or set it to the middle so the design alternates and pulls rounds from both tubes.

Features

The KSG410 features a high-viz front sight that sits in the carry handle, much like that of the KS7. The pistol grip features a push-through button safety, and the front of the pistol grip has a tab to release the pump. The chamber and loading gates are located behind the pistol grip, as the empty cartridges eject downward, allowing for off-hand shooting.

Being chambered for .410, the shotgun has a 3-inch chamber. Due to the small nature of the cartridge, there is practically no recoil. This shotgun can be fired fast and accurately, and it will be easy to plug away for a while with the 14-round capacity.

The shotgun is mainly constructed of polymer, leading to a lightweight feel. Overall, this little .410 is in a class of its own, from the compact nature to the light recoil impulse. Few .410s can match the 14-round capacity.

Summary

If you’re looking for a fun little shotgun, it will be hard to beat the KSG410. From shooting vermin on the farm to just plinking away, the KSG410 is a sweet little package.
