Springfield Armory kicked off SHOT Show week by announcing two new earth-tone colorways for the Echelon 4.0C compact carry pistol. The new models wear either a Desert FDE or OD Green Cerakote finish, keeping the black controls and black Melonite barrel of the all-black version.

The Echelon 4.0C is a “duty-grade compact pistol engineered for carry” and is the little brother to Springfield’s full-size Echelon that launched in 2023. The 4.0C uses a shorter 4-inch barrel and compact frame, measuring just 7.25 inches overall while staying under 1.5 pounds unloaded.

It’s also a versatile handgun that allows the user to switch between multiple grips and features Springfield’s Variable Interface System for optics mounting, with patent-pending self-locking pins for “an unparalleled direct-mount fit between the pistol’s slide and optic.”

Both the Desert FDE and OD Green variants come standard with two magazines: a flush-fit, 15-rounder and an extended, 18-round mag with a color-matching extension. The magazines feature a durable scratch-resistant, blacked-out coating. For those living in less-free locales, Springfield offers 10- and 15-round models, with MSRP for all versions set at $719.
