New: Smith & Wesson Adds 10mm to Folding FPC Carbine Series
Tennessee-based Smith & Wesson has something special for fans of the "Centimeter," adding the caliber offering to its new FPC carbine series.
Smith debuted the FPC in 9mm in late 2023, using the same grip, magazines, and surface controls of the company's M&P9 M2.0 pistol. Sporting a 16-inch barrel inside of a lightweight handguard complete with M-LOK accessory slots, the carbine is both optic- and suppressor-ready, with a 1/2x28 TPI threaded barrel and a full-length top Picatinny rail for sights or glass. Meanwhile, the side-folding barrel prevents loss of zero.
Expanding the line last year to .40 S&W (not really), it is only logical that the dimensionally similar but ballistically superior 10mm would join the lineup.

Note the 16.25-inch threaded barrel, M-LOK slots on the handguard, and a Picatinny-style top rail for optics.
The FPC is 15+1 (flush fit) or 20+1 (extended) capacity, with in-stock magazine storage capable of holding two magazines. The grip can be user-modified with the included M&P10 M2.0 palm swell inserts. The carbine ships in a zipper case with three 15-round magazines.
The move by Smith to bring a 10mm carbine to the market makes sense as the cartridge has an enthusiastic fan base, and the ammo is more available than at any time in the round's 45-year history. Plus, those who already own an M&P10 M2.0 handgun can pick up this new FPC as a companion piece, sharing magazines and palmswell inserts.
The MSRP on the new Smith & Wesson FPC carbine in 10mm is $699. Further, as few manufacturers market a 10mm carbine (Ruger, Kriss, TNW, and Hi-Point), there isn't a lot of competition in that space.
