The lever-action rifle is an iconic American firearm design, and at GOALs 2025, Wren Metal Works was showing off the coolest lever guns I have ever seen. 
 

The folks at Wren Metal Works started out developing thread-on suppressors but realized they needed to do something to stand out on the market. After being challenged with the idea that no one could ever make an integrally suppressed lever gun, the company went in a different direction. 

With the motto, “The lever will never die,” Wren Metal Works has developed the first integrally suppressed lever-action rifle. Integrally suppressed rifles are not as popular as they should be, considering that the longer the suppressor, the quieter the report from the rifle. 
 

Wren takes popular lever actions, such as Henry and Marlin, and completely reworks the barrel and front end. Wren’s suppressors are one-tax items, meaning they are at least 16 inches, so the customer doesn’t need two tax stamps. 

The company started with some of the more popular lever-action cartridges – .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .44-40, .45 Long Colt, and the all-American .45-70 – and recently introduced a magazine-fed 8.6 Blackout. The 8.6 is one of the largest calibers designed for subsonic suppressed shooting. 
 

I was incredibly impressed with how smooth and quiet the rifles were on the range. From .45-70 to 8.6 Blackout, thanks to the long suppressor design, every shot was hearing-safe. Wren has one demo rifle chambered for .45-70 that has traveled the country to shows for the last few years. It’s estimated the rifle has over 12,000 rounds on it, and – with the necessary cleaning of the suppressor – it still shoots flawlessly.
