The fact that Glock pistols are among the most popular firearms in the world is undeniable. So popular, in fact, that they’ve spawned quite a few copies, variants, and enhanced versions commonly found on the market today.

Glock’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed, so there are plenty of companies looking to get a piece of the pie. It’s a good thing for us as consumers, because we now have access to a wide array of firearms built around a proven design. Here are some of the most popular options for Glock variants available right now.

Lone Wolf TW3C

Lone Wolf has established itself as a company that develops custom parts for Glocks. But they’ve gotten into building their own guns from the ground up, and the TW3C is a prime example. This lightweight tactical gun is patterned on the Glock 19 but with some nice upgrades.

The gun has a dehorned slide that makes it easier to get it into and out of the holster. It also features front slide serrations that make it easier to do press checks and to rack the slide from the front. A really nice addition is the custom trigger to improve trigger pull and reset. Overall, it’s a quality build that pushes the gun beyond the stock Glock 19 at a really affordable price point.

Shadow Systems MR920

Staying in the same framework as the Glock 19, but with a load of extras, the MR920 from Shadow Systems is a firearm that is both concealable and can serve as a reliable duty pistol. The MR920 boasts a fluted barrel, which helps keep the firearm cool when shooting and cuts down on weight.

The slide hosts positive front slide serrations for extra grip when racking or doing press checks. This is a popular upgrade on Glocks, so much so that it is now featured on the Glock 19 Gen 5. But one of the best upgrades is the custom frame that boasts a deep undercut below the trigger guard to allow you to gain a nice, high grip.

Additionally, the gun has a custom grip texture that is very positive and controllable under harsh conditions. Our sample includes blacked-out rear sights with a high-visibility front. Since changing out the stock Glock sights is one of the most popular upgrades to Glocks, this is a nice addition.

Cline Tactical C-19 Warbird

Next, we have the C-19 Warbird from Cline Tactical. Another Glock 19 variant, it hosts several upgrades to the stock Glock design. One of the easily noticed aspects of the gun are the many functional parts that have been modified to create a very custom, cool look.

The Warbird even has the addition of teeth to the slide to mimic World War II fighter planes. At the same time, the front teeth also serve as cocking serrations at the front of the slide. Even the barrel has a custom paint job to five the appearance of a mouth. Cline is known for its custom looks, and it shows on this sample gun.

A feature that is different from the previous examples is the addition of a milled slide to allow for a red dot. Adding a dot is an easy way to improve speed and accuracy for the shooter, and the milled slide is a nice nod to the increasing trend of adding optics to pistols.

ZEV Technologies OZ9

Getting away from the Glock 19 framework and entering the realm of the full-size duty pistol, the ZEV Technologies OZ9 pistol is patterned after the Glock 17. While the gun is well suited for competition, it can still easily fill the role of home defense or daily carry if you want a full-size gun.

Like some of the previous examples, this gun also has lightening cuts in the slide and fluting on the barrel. These features cut weight and aid in keeping the gun cool. The gun hosts fiber-optic iron sights and a milled slide that is ready for an optic.

The frame on the OZ9 stands out as extremely ergonomic, especially when compared to a standard Glock 17. The grooves, cuts, and custom stippling allow the shooter to get a firm grip on the gun even under poor conditions. A flared magwell also assists with quick and easy reloads, another feature common among competition guns.

Salient Arms Tier One Glock 19

Finally, we have the Tier One Glock 19 from Salient Arms. Known for their high-quality upgrades, Salient Arms has a higher-price range gun that boasts some extra features. The gun has a stainless-steel guide rod with a compensator counterweight on a fluted barrel. This gives the pistol a lightweight feel to the muzzle while still allowing the shooter to achieve quick follow-up shots.

The frame also boasts additional lightening cuts and front slide serrations like our other custom Glocks. The custom stipple grip on the frame is especially nice and provides a very positive grip for the shooter. The trigger is also custom, with a nice, clean break that is more polished than a stock Glock. The reset is very positive and aids in follow-up shots. Overall, the upgrades move this Glock into the top tier of firearms for quality and performance.
