Illinois-based Zastava USA recently announced they had a California-compliant AK headed to the consumer market.

A "featureless" version of the ZPAPM70-- which Zastava is already calling the CaliPAP on social media-- has all the cringe stuff you'd expect for a California AK not bought cash-and-carry out of a trunk in Oakland. In other words, it will ship with a fixed aluminum triangle stock, a 10/30 pinned magazine, and a fin grip.

Otherwise, it looks to be a fairly standard M70 which come from the factory with a double stack bolt, 1.5mm bulged trunnion receiver, a 16.3-inch cold hammer forged chrome lined barrel, a bolt hold-open notch on the safety selector, as well as an optic side rail along with adjustable front and rear iron sights.

Since it ditches the normal dark walnut and birds-eye maple furniture, the CaliPAP has polymer handguards that allow the installation of a cleaning rod, which is included.

"This all-black ZPAP will make you as cool as you can be in Cali," says Zastava.

Sorry, no MSRP at this time.
