New: Optics Ready Smith & Wesson M&P Compact Spec Series
Red-dot ready right out of the box via Smith & Wesson's C.O.R.E. system and boasting an extended suppressor-ready threaded barrel, the new S&W M&P9 M2.0 Compact Spec Series kit scratches a lot of itches.
The third iteration of Smith's M&P Spec Series line debuted this week, complete with a 4.6-inch threaded barrel – making it optimal for those quiet moments – while the high sights co-witness over cans and through most micro red dots. Clad in what the company dubs a "Bull Shark Gray Cerakote," the new Spec Series M2.0 Compact includes a pair of 23-round extended mags and a flush-fit 15-rounder to allow better concealment. The included palm swell inserts, in S&W's standard black, coupled with surface controls, give it a two-tone look.
The MSRP on the limited-edition Spec Series Pistol Kit is $799, which is almost double the amount of a standard M&P9 M2.0 Compact, but you don't get the threads, the shark, the coin, the optics cut (chicks dig optics cuts), the extendos, or the blade for that price.
