Springfield this week announced a new model of the 15+1 capacity Hellcat Pro micro 9mm pistol, shipping with a micro red dot already installed.

The new Hellcat Pro combo includes both an Optical Sight Pistol, or OSP, configuration handgun and a Shield SMSc 4 MOA optic along with a pair of flush-fitting 15+1 capacity mags for a sub-$1K price. Announced earlier this year, the Hellcat Pro runs 6.6 inches in overall length and 1 inch in width, which puts it in the same box as the nominally 10+1 capacity Glock 43X. At a height of 4.8 inches, the Hellcat Pro is a tad shorter than the G43X when the Austrian polymer pistol has its standard mag inserted.

Hellcat Pro Review: Springfield’s Cat Is Finally Out of the Bag

Meanwhile, the Shield SMSc 4 MOA optic on the new model weighs just over half an ounce and uses a single included CR2032 battery for years of use without replacement. It co-witnesses with the Hellcat Pro’s U-Dot sights which include a high visibility tritium/luminescent front sight paired with a Tactical Rack rear sight.

"The Hellcat Pro with Shield SMSc delivers an EDC-ready pistol that provides both impressive performance as well as capacity on par with a full-size handgun, and all in a very compact package,” said Steve Kramer, Springfield’s VP of Marketing. "This is a pistol that shoots like a much larger handgun while still being extremely easy to conceal, yet offering red dot optics capability with the included Shield SMSc."

The MSRP of the new Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro with Shield SMSc red dot installed is $840.
