Christensen Arms Has New ‘Flashed Forged Technology’ & Rimfire Chamberings
Christensen Arms had two new items it talked to us about at SHOT Show 2023. First, it was its new Flashed Forged Technology that allows it to make stronger and lighter carbon-fiber stocks. Second was its new rimfire-caliber offering in the Ranger rimfire rifle.

Christensen Arms is a premier maker of custom hunting rifles and known for making lightweight backpacking rifles. It is continuing to innovate with its new Flashed Forged Technology. The FFT process allows it to make a stock up to 1 pound lighter than other “lightweight” carbon-fiber stocks.
Right now, this technology is only available in its Mesa, Ridgeline, and CA5five6 models. The lightest of these offerings is the Ridgeline, which can come in at 4.8 pounds. It starts at $3,399. The Mesa FFT is a little heavier at 5.5 pounds but is only $1,599.

Moving on, the Ranger is a rifle that was released a few years ago and it has a custom bolt-action rimfire design. It uses the reliable Ruger 10/22 magazines. The footprint is proprietary, so you can only use the CA stocks. The receiver is aluminum with a steel recoil lug insert.

Christensen pairs it with a carbon-fiber tensioned barrel, which is a better way to construct carbon-fiber barrels to allow them to keep better accuracy. The barrel is also threaded to allow for muzzle devices like suppressors. Rifles start at $849 and also have a guarantee of sub-MOA groups at 50 yards.
This year they are expanding the caliber offerings to .17 HMR and .22 WMR, in addition to .22 LR.
