Rock River Arms is elevating its offerings with a new AR-15 rifle: the Ascendant All-Terrain Hunter. The Ascendant series is a high-end build that adds upgraded components to Rock River’s proven LAR-15 platform.

“Rock River Arms has always been known for its accuracy and quality, but we are ‘ascending to a whole new level’ with our new Ascendant series,” said Dawn Wehunt, RRA’s sales and marketing manager.

Launched in three chamberings – .223 Wylde, .350 Legend, and .450 Bushmaster – the All-Terrain Hunter rifles are built to maximize accuracy and performance.

The stainless-steel barrel features a matte finish to reduce glare in the field and is cryogenically treated for maximum stability and accuracy. The handguard is lightweight with a full-length Picatinny top rail for mounting optics.

The trigger is a TriggerTech Diamond Single-Stage AR-15 cartridge trigger, with pull adjustable from 1.5 to 4 pounds. “This is a true zero-creep trigger with an extremely short overtravel that practically eliminates shooter-induced shot disturbance,” according to a Rock River news release.

Ascendant rifles come with one of two Vortex optics: the Viper HS 4-16x44mm or the Strike Eagle 1-6x24mm, mounted on Rock River’s heavy-duty Hi-Rise Cantilever scope mount with 30mm rings.

Backing it all up is Magpul's new PRS Lite stock, which keeps weight down and allows the shooter to customize the fit with its adjustable length of pull and cheek riser.

A Rock River Arms’ Hogue rubber overmolded pistol grip mated with an ambidextrous Radian Raptor charging handle is meant to “deliver optimal retention and operational control in the most challenging environments.”

Of course, this combination of features doesn’t come cheap. MSRP starts at $3,020 for the model in .350 Legend and ranges up to $3,235 for the .223 Wylde. The added value is knowing you won’t need to spend any extra on upgrades.

As Rock River puts it: “There is nothing to figure out. Add ammo and go.”
