May 2023 has passed, and all we're left with is a confusing and backward brace rule currently in effect for all but a select few. It's not all bad, though. Americans continue to show up to the gun counter in droves, not to be deterred from exercising our constitutional rights. Braces might be out of play for the moment, but you can bet we're still selling a ton of AR-15s and other modern sporting rifles. Great deals continue to dominate the top sellers list here, and we've had some doozies over the past month.

Here are the best selling guns on Guns.com in May 2023.

Top 5 Handguns

You love Dracos – you really, really do! We continue to have a smashing deal on the Draco 9S, and that is enough to land it at the number one spot again for the second month in a row. 

Second place is the always-dependable G43X. The number three spot is another great deal we were sporting during May, the Tisas 1911A1. This is a full-sized 1911 that has proven to be basic yet dependable, plus it comes at a steal of a price.

Coming in at number four is the Tisas 1911 A1 Tanker, which is a great little Commander-length 1911 if you're not into the full-sized version. Just like its bigger brother, the Tanker has a great price point to match with dependable reliability. If you’re looking for your first 1911, this might be it. Finally, rounding out the list is another Glock, and our first LE Trade-in gun of this month, the G35 Gen 4. Like of most of the LE Trade-in guns we have, these have a proven reliability and a nice price to match. 

Top 5 Rifles & Carbines

The Smith & Wesson FPC just refuses to quit. At this rate, it may just be number one for the entire year – no one would be shocked. While other guns on this list have sold well consistently, we've never seen a gun dominate like this one has. Coming in at number two is the Marlin Model 1895 SBL, which has seen a steady place on this list ever since it came out. Another LE Trade-in gun comes in at number three with the IWI Tavor SAR. It's a fun and useful bullpup that will serve many functions for the end user. Plus, did we mention the deals we give on LE guns?

Number four belongs to another Marlin, the 1895 Trapper. People sure do love these revamped Marlin lever guns these days. Finally, rounding out the list is a great Ruger package we put together. We love giving deals but also putting together useful packages of firearms, optics, and accessories to get a user going right out of the gate. This AR-556 package has seen a lot of love from our customers since its introduction last month. 

Top 5 Shotguns

We're talking all tactical when it comes to the top selling shotguns in May. When talking tactical, it's hard to beat a 14+1 shell count that comes with the Keltec KSG, which finds itself atop the scattergun list this month. Number two belongs to the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical. We just got our hands on one of these and we're looking forward to putting it through its paces in the coming months, already impressed as a high quality shotgun. 

The Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol has been a favorite among shotgunners over the years and continues to show up, clocking in third this month. Mossberg shows up again at number four with the crowd-pleasing 590A1 Tactical Magpul. If you can't get a 940 Pro Tactical, this makes an excellent second choice from one of America's premiere shotgun manufacturers. Finally, in a flip of the script, the Maverick 88 Security comes in at number five. This budget friendly shotgun usually finds itself atop this list but still managed to find a way on.
