Lancer Systems Helps Build Long-Range Shooting Facility in Pennsylvania
Thanks to sponsorship from firearms and component manufacturer Lancer Systems, a Pennsylvania outdoor adventure camp for disabled veterans is set to become the “premier long-range shooting facility east of the Mississippi River.”
Camp Freedom, located near Carbondale, Pennsylvania, offers outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, hiking, and biking for disabled veterans and first responders, their families, and Gold Star families who have lost a loved one in military service. With the new Lancer Systems Range, Camp Freedom can also offer needed training opportunities for local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as host national-scale competitions.
The Lancer Systems Range at Camp Freedom features a 1,760-yard (1-mile) range for long-distance training for shooters of experience levels, including beginners. The multi-level shooting structure is covered and will be accessible for guests with disabilities. An adjacent 65-by-145-yard tactical training facility allows shooters to perform traditional sighting, pistol shooting, shotgun shooting, and engage in tactical live-fire training.
“Lancer’s support will result in many lives of our true American heroes being rescued and saved,” noted Camp Freedom Executive Director Matt Guedes in a Wednesday news release.
“We have witnessed firsthand the life-changing service and support that Camp Freedom’s staff delivers to our country’s disabled veterans, first responders, their families, and Gold Star families, and it is nothing short of extraordinary,” Lancer CEO Allon Bloch said in announcing the sponsorship. “Going forward, we believe the Lancer Systems Range at Camp Freedom will prove to be a tremendous resource, providing additional funding for the camp as it expands its scope to include educational services, career transitioning, and additional wellbeing support.”
