Cabot Enters the 2011 Space with the New Insurrection Pistol Series
The bespoke 1911 maker known for its exquisite one-of-a-kind pistols and limited runs has built a new facility to concentrate on what it calls a "groundbreaking" new double stack.
Cabot Guns has been in the business since 2011, constructing such eye-catching guns as a $4.5 million set of pistols carved from a 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite at its Fort Wayne, Indiana workshop. Now, with a dedicated double-stack shop in Cabot, Pennsylvania, the company is branching out on the Insurrection, a 9mm 2011 railgun that runs on STI/2011 compatible mags.
The full-sized pistols weigh 42 ounces with all stainless-steel construction and a 5-inch match-grade hand-fit stainless-steel barrel with fluted hood cuts.

Cabot's Ledge rear and fiber-optic front sights are standard with an RMR footprint that can be added. Other front sight options include white dot, gold bead, Tritium, and black serrated.
Factory-ported barrels are also an option for an extra $250.
The Insurrection uses Cabot's proprietary new Advantage extractor, an internal mechanism enhancing the reliability of the 9mm cartridge within the iconic 1911 platform.
To say that Cabot went all in on the ergos, fit, and finish, would be an understatement.
The company marketed an inaugural run of 50 Insurrection series pistols (serial No. 0001 through 0050) which included ported barrels, 2.5 MOA Trijicon SROs, and limited-edition markings. Notably, all 50 Inaugural editions sold out immediately, underlining what Cabot sees as the exceptional demand for the Insurrection. The model came after a two-year effort.
The MSRP on production Insurrection models starts at $5,995, which is about on par with a Nighthawk Custom Agent or about $2K more than a Staccato 2011XL. Cabot estimates an 8–10-month lead time from order to delivery.
