Shipping complete with the company's new fully enclosed Romeo-M17 optic, SIG Sauer has given its Modular Handgun System winners the full X-Series treatment.

The new full-sized M17X and more compact M18X take the pistols approved in 2017 as sidearms for service across the U.S. military and added an X-Series grip module. The grip module is also fitted with a magwell extension to aid in rapid mag changes. Added to this is an X-Series flat-blade trigger.

The M17X has a full-length 4.7-inch barrel that translates to an 8-inch overall length. With an extended beavertail and deep undercut for a high grip and better recoil control, the X-Series has quickly become one of SIG's favorite subvariants of the P320 series. It ships with three 21-round magazines as well as the Romeo-M17 optic. (Photo: SIG)

SIG Sauer M18X
The M18X runs a 3.9-inch barrel and has an overall length of 7.2 inches using an X-Series Carry grip module. Like the M17X, it ships with three 21-round magazines as well as the Romeo-M17 optic. (Photo: SIG)
Romeo M17 MRD Eger
Debuted to the public earlier this year, the Romeo-M17 optic – which was recently assigned a NATO NSN number – is a fully enclosed "lunch box" style micro red dot that is sealed and utilizes the SIG-LOC footprint mounting for five points of contact, giving it a solid lockup. It has a 7075 aluminum housing that is tough as nails – this one survived an optic-oriented drop from 10 feet onto concrete with no change in zero or performance – and uses an aspheric glass lens rather than a more common Mangin spherical type lens more commonly seen on MRDs.  SIG has seen much overseas success in terms of winning military and LE contracts with X-Series pistols, and you can expect the M17X and M18X to become a hit in such future tenders. (Photo: SIG)

No MSRP is available, as that's just how SIG rolls, but the ask on the new M17X and M18X, optic included, is expected to be around $1,500.
