EOTech just released its new Vudu X line of riflescopes aimed at hunting and general recreational shooters, with a 1-6x24mm and a 2-12x40mm as the first offerings. Guns.com got a first-hand look at SHOT Show 2024.

AFFORDABILITY

In my opinion, the most standout feature is the price point. The 1-6x is retailing for $799, and the 2-12x for $849 – almost half the price of the equivalent legacy Vudu scopes.

The original Vudu scopes had a good reputation, but because of their price point, they only appealed to high-end competition and tactical shooters. The Vudu X pricing will most likely make it more palatable to a wider market.

FEATURES

The Vudu X is a Second Focal Plan scope with a 30mm tube body, capped MOA turrets, and an illumination adjustment dial with “off” positions between each brightness setting. The 2-12x also features a parallax adjustment. Scope caps and a throw lever are included. Two reticles are currently available: a duplex and a ballistic drop.

Ruggedness and durability are advertised as on par with the original Vudu series, and the scopes will benefit from EOTech’s lifetime warranty.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

The glass quality seemed quite good to my eye on the floor of SHOT Show. While probably not as high-class as the Japanese glass in the legacy Vudu line, these Philippines-produced scopes seem to hold their own quite well.

First impressions of the Vudu X on the floor of SHOT Show were positive, and we look forward to a chance to take one of these scopes to the range.

We will have to wait for real-life outdoor testing to see how these lenses compare to others, but EOTech has always been known for glass clarity, so I would bet these scopes won’t disappoint. The Vudu X should start shipping at the end of Q1.

All-in-all, this seems like Eotech is listening to its customers in providing a good, value option for both an LPVO and a general-purpose riflescope.
