Among the many fascinating offerings at the SAR West Gun Show in Arizona last December, a company called OneShot showed off a portable pistol rest that anchors your handgun to your shoulder without actually attaching to the gun.

The OneShot GS2 is a “non-attachment pistol rest” that’s compatible with any full-sized pistol frame on the market, including your favorite 1911. The GS2 never attaches to the gun but allows you to rest your pistol on a shoulder brace that can attach to your body with a sling system (sold separately) and can be worn under a jacket or blazer if you’re part of executive defense team, for example.
The GS2 will fit just about any handgun on the market.
OneShot is meant for use in high-consequence situations “when missing is not an option,” OneShot sales rep Randy Elstad explained when we stopped by his booth at the Crossroads/SAR gun show in Phoenix. “It is a portable wall to improve operator accuracy.”
This "portable wall" is also nearly impossible to damage, as the company demonstrates by dropping a cinder block onto the GS2. (Spoiler: it doesn't end well for the cinder block.)
As demonstrated on the company’s website, the GS2 is virtually indestructible, can be concealed under clothing, and deployed in a split second with proper training and practice. At just $80 to fit nearly any pistol you own, that seems like a great value.
