Serbian gunmaker Zastava is best known for its M70 series Kalash variants but the Guns.com crew stumbled on some interesting bolt-action rifles at the company's booth at a large international trade show.

While walking the aisles at the 50th Annual IWA Outdoor Classics in Germany last month, we made sure to stop by Zastava, whose booth was mobbed with attendees.

Zastava makes a ton of designated marksman/sniper rifles (snajperska puška) including the SVD-looking M91 in both 7.62x54R and 7.62 NATO, as well as the big M93 Crna Strela (Black Arrow) and M12 Crno Koplje (Black Spear) in .50 BMG and 12.7x108.

The company's modern precision rifle game is based on the M07 series, which is a .30 caliber long-action bolt-gun that borrows from the classic M98 Mauser design but with contemporary features like a side-folding adjustable stock, heavy match grade barrel with a threaded muzzle, integral bipod, detachable magazine, adjustable trigger, and pistol grip. Introduced in 2007, it has been marketed in both .308 and 7.62x54R as well as with wooden furniture (standard M07) a fixed stock (M07AS), and in folding stocked (M07AF) variants.

A new variant of the M07 on display at IWA in Germany recently was the M07M, chambered in .338 Lapua.

At its heart, the M07M uses a scaled-up Mauser 98 action. Zastava had it at IWA listed as a "lovački karabini," or hunting carbine, which points to a high likelihood that we will be seeing it appear in the States at some point for sporting purposes. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)

The M07M currently wears a KeyMod handguard, something that we think will likely change for the U.S. market, and includes an adjustable side-folding stock. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)
Zastava CZ999
Going beyond the M07M, the company had lots of sweet engraved and high-touch models on display, such as this CZ999... (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)

Zastava M57P
And – in what could be a super interesting turn of events – Zastava had this lightweight M57 Tokarev with a polymer frame, the M57P. This could be very cool if fully developed. (Photo: Chris Eger/Guns.com)
