Taran Butler Talks Canik's New Combat Pistol at IWA
A John Wick-level handgun without the John Wick-level price, the new Canik TTI Combat collaboration with Taran Tactical is about as sweet as it gets for the money.
While walking the aisles at the recent IWA Outdoor Classic Show in Germany, Guns.com ran into Taran Butler himself and got the background on his Canik collab. Built on a completely new polymer frame designed by Butler, the TTI Combat runs aggressive grip texturing, an integrated flared magwell, a removable aluminum competition magwell, a ported and spiral-fluted barrel, the first compensator seen on a Canik, a diamond cut/flat-faced 90-degree break trigger, fully adjustable sights with a Trijicon SRO cut, and a ton of other standard features – all for an MSRP of $949.
"Earlier a guy came by, and I told him it was under $1,000, and he was like 'Yeah right.' He wouldn't believe it," Butler told us.
The pistol ships with two 18-round magazines with one flush-fit TTI base pad and one +3 TTI base pad. (All photos: Chris Eger/Guns.com)
Besides a great pistol, the Canik TTI Combat also has a ton of other goodies such as a custom holster, hard travel case, cleaning kit, tool kit, custom punch, magazine speed loader, trigger lock, and three optic plate interfaces.
We asked Butler if National and World USPSA Champion Nils Jonasson, who is probably the most Canik of Canik guys, has wrapped his hands around the new gun, and the answer was positive.
"Oh yeah, Nils came out to the range, and we shot the hell out of it. So, he was raging with it," said Butler. "So yeah, he loves it. He's going to be shooting it in competitions, too."
