CZ Adds More Optics Ready Models: You Asked, They Answered
Some of the immediate feedback we got when interviewing CZ's CEO recently was gripes that we didn't grill him about the company's lack of optics-ready models. There's a reason for that: they were already in the works.
We managed to get the lowdown on the new line at the 2024 NRA Annual Meetings in Dallas. The new guns include OR models of the CZ subsidiary Dan Wesson'sDWX, DWX Compact, Kodiak, Bruin, and Specialist, with more "on the way."
The Dan Wesson Specialist optics-ready models will be available in 9mm, 10mm, and .45 ACP in both standard and Commander lengths, among others inbound for 2024. (Photos: Don Summers/Guns.com)
The Dan Wesson DWX should have been introduced with a factory optics cut.
As should the DWX Compact.
The Dan Wesson Kodiak is a long-slide 6-inch 10mm, the type of format that screams a need for a rugged micro red dot. The Dan Wesson Bruin, which is essentially a Kodiak with Tritium fiber-optic day/night sights, better ergos, and a different finish, is also going to be offered in an OR model.
Between the new DW 1911s and the crossover DWX, as well as CZ models like the Shadow 2 Compact that was introduced last year already optics-ready, and the fact that legacy models like the P-10 C, CZ 75 A01 SD, and Gold Digger race gun are also available in factory cuts, it would seem that more CZ models are going to be MRD capable than ever.
Haven’t seen your favorite CZ yet? Give it a minute. We hear there are lots of guns in the pipeline.
