Taurus has added a ton of features to its smash-hit TX22 pistol at the same time the company has given its .357/9mm swappable revolver a promotion to the boardroom.

The company introduced the seven-shot Model 692 medium frame revolver in 2018 as a double-action/single-action wheel gun that could be swapped to run either .357 Magnum/.38 Special  +P or 9mm via a cylinder change.

The new multi-caliber Taurus Executive Grade Model 692 picks up hand-polished to a satin finish in an aesthetic upgrade as well as a tuned action that steps up the revolver's performance.

An extended ejector rod and transfer bar safety are also standard in this DA/SA wheel gun.

As are the pair of swappable cylinders, adding versatility for the user when it comes to keeping the 692 stoked.

Like the rest of the Executive models, as Guns.com found out in our recent behind-the-scenes tour of the company's facility in Georgia, the new 692 is a "one gun one gunsmith" product, built in a special unit inside the facility.

MSRP on the new Taurus Executive Grade 692 is $1,106.99.

Gen 2 TX22

Taurus has long had a solid and well-reviewed offering in the TX22 series, but it has started to feel a little dated compared to recently introduced competitors such as the SIG P322.

The answer is the enhanced new Gen 2 TX22 which uses slide lightening cuts to shave enough weight for a Shield RMSc pattern micro red dot while retaining its iron sights, an extended threaded barrel, and an extended 22-round magazine.

The new full-size TX22 Gen 2 allows a red dot while keeping high-contrast white dot front sights and serrated rear sights. Don't like the sights? They are in a Glock dovetail, so swapping them out is super achievable.

The pistol also now features an extended threaded barrel, rather than using an attachable threaded barrel shroud to mount a muzzle device or suppressor.

For those with a legacy TX22, Taurus plans to sell the loaded slide of the new model, which is reverse compatible – as are the 22-round mags.

The now-classic TX22 has an MSRP of $348.99, which is typically a good bit less at retail, while the new Gen 2 TX22 has an ask of $363.99 and is already available.
