On this week's episode of Two Guys One Gun, the crew discusses the first popular micro-compact handgun: the SIG Sauer P365.
Released in 2017, the P365 is one of a few handguns that changed the landscape of the concealed carry game. Previously, deep concealment meant a major sacrifice in magazine capacity. To achieve a thin and small frame, companies were offering single-stack handguns. SIG’s “subcompact" design with a double-stack layout offered a deeply concealable silhouette that still had a 10+1 capacity.
SIG would not be the only company, as the release of the P365 pushed pretty much every other major manufacturer to either redesign their single stacks or release a new handgun. In the span of just a few years, the single-stack subcompact became almost obsolete. It’s not every day that a new firearm design has the impact that the SIG P365 had.
At this point, the P365 is a massive handgun line with different options, sizes, and roles to play. SIG even has a Rose line curated by Lena Miculek that’s focused on women’s concealed carry.

More recently, SIG expanded the line by adding a full, almost duty-sized P365 Fuse, offering the same thin profile but with a full-size barrel. The P365 reigned supreme as the top-selling handgun in the United States for 2018 and 2019, and it continues to dominate the concealed carry space. It’s easy to overlook, but this small handgun made a big splash.
