Dr. Matt Carriker, the Texas-based veterinarian best known in gun circles for his Demolition Ranch channel, late Monday addressed the media controversy surrounding the Trump shooter's T-shirt.

Over the weekend, news outlets breathlessly pointed out that the subject neutralized by law enforcement in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday was wearing a “Demolitia” tee sold via Carriker's merch site, Bunker Branding.

"Last night was crazy… I’ve got news stations calling me asking if I ever spoke with the shooter… what… the… hell," noted Carriker on social media Sunday morning, following up with, "Sucks seeing articles about this and they are naming 3 people… the shooter, trump… and somehow me. Will make a public statement soon on YT. Still just in disbelief honestly."

In his promised five-minute video posted Monday to YouTube, which garnered more than 3 million views within hours, Carriker said he was "shocked and confused" when he found out about the T-shirt, going on to point out that his merch operation is local and very personal to him.

"We also own a t-shirt company um and it's based out of this my hometown right here and my friends work there and we make these shirts-- we print them here in Texas and ship them all over the world uh I've seen my shirts in every continent," he said. "I got a picture like two weeks ago of a guy wearing my shirt in Antarctica. So we don't vet the people who buy our shirts. Obviously, it'd be impossible to just like Nike doesn't vet who buys their shoes."

The response to the video, with over 25,000 comments by Tuesday morning, was overwhelmingly supportive.

"Any News agency that tries to throw you under the bus should be ashamed of themselves," read one comment with 3,400 likes.

"Even the BBC here in the UK mentioned it in their broadcasts today, sucks to have your name dragged through the mud like this for doing absolutely nothing wrong!" read another.

"We got your back my boy," noted Donut Operator.

Others pointed out the logical misstep of the situation.

"My nephew served in Afghanistan and saw a Taliban wearing a Nebraska tee shirt but he doubted that he was a Cornhusker fan," observed one commenter.

"Currently wearing a Duck-Tales shirt. Have never condoned Scottish ducks swimming through vaults full of currency," said another.
