South Dakota-based Silencer Central has teamed up with the folks over at MeatEater to develop a new Banish series 3.0-caliber suppressor with hunters in mind.

SC's Banish suppressors first hit the market in 2009 and have been gaining popularity ever since, in large part due to the fact they are modular, multi-caliber, and fully user-serviceable. The standard titanium construction Banish 30 (as in .30 caliber to .300 WBY) was introduced in 2020 to rave reviews.

Taking the Banish 30 as a starting point, the new Banish 30 MeatEater is still fully titanium – weighing just 10.3 ounces – and is capable of running up to a .300 RUM cartridge.

The most interesting thing about the new Banish 30 MeatEater is the inclusion of an innovative adjustable anchor brake that can reduce recoil by up to 40 percent.

"We told the folks at Silencer Central that we wanted to help build a suppressor that was lightweight, short, user serviceable, quiet, and reduced recoil," said Ryan ‘Cal’ Callaghan, Director of Conservation at MeatEater. "It seemed impossible, but from every test we've done, that team was able to walk a fine line to help us accomplish all of those things in a package dedicated for hunting rigs."

The Banish MeatEater 30-caliber suppressor is available now with an MSRP of $1,299.

Since you came this far and, should you have the time, the MeatEater podcast recently featured Steven Rinella sitting down with Brandon Maddox, Grace Sturdivant, Lukas VanLaeken, Janis Putelis, Ryan Callaghan, Garrett Long, Matt Miller, Phil Taylor, and Corinne Schneider to hash out the benefits of hunting with suppressors. They even touch on the new Banish 30 MeatEater.

Go figure.
