Tisas Brings Budget-Friendly PX-5.7 to Growing 5.7 Market
The 5.7x28mm cartridge is quickly rising as one of the most popular calibers in the United States, and Turkish firearms maker Tisas is tapping into the market with a new semi-automatic handgun chambered in the zippy cartridge. Meet the PX-5.7.
Design
The Tisas PX-5.7 has a textured polymer frame and a 4.8-inch barrel. The slide features a fiber-optic front sight and a blacked-out rear sight, plus this model is optics-ready. The trigger features a flat face and a trigger safety.

The handgun feeds from flush-fit 20-round magazines, giving the user more ammunition on hand than most other calibers. The PX5.7 includes two of those 20-round magazines.
Note the flat-faced trigger...
The bottleneck 5.7x28mm cartridge is extremely zippy, advertising a velocity of almost 1,800 FPS out of a 5-inch barrel. The advantage is that it is a flat-shooting round that maintains velocity for a longer distance than other, more traditional, handgun calibers such as 9mm or .45 ACP.
...and rail space up front.
Sights are a blacked-out rear and fiber-optic front.
It also offers a higher capacity, as the rounds are not as cumbersome as other handgun calibers. Additionally, the 5.7 cartridge is extremely controllable. The 40-grain projectiles offer a similar recoil impulse to that of .22 Magnum.
Summary
Tisas is known for its plethora of affordable handguns and a solid reputation for quality. Even as more 5.7 platforms become available, Tisas is still one of the most affordable.
Regardless of what caliber, platform, or brand you choose, training is most important. Dry fire, practice those draws, grab some ammo, and hit the range. Master the craft.
