Czechia-based Laugo Arms has answered those who loved the company's Alien series competition guns but wanted something more everyday carry-sized with a new pistol. Meet the Remus.

Laugo was perhaps the biggest head-turner at SHOT Show in 2020 when its Alien hit American shores. Teased going back to 2018, the unique-looking handgun, which bears a strong resemblance to the Xenomorph endoparasitoid extraterrestrial species in Ridley Scott’s "Alien" franchise, generated lots of buzz with its extremely low bore axis and innovative design.

However, it has only been available in a full-sized comp gun format here in the States, so this week's news that a new, and more carry-friendly, design is available will no doubt be welcome to those who want to have an Alien at their side while shopping for produce.

The Laugo Arms Alien Remus has a flush-fit 15-round magazine compatible with legacy pistols, a modular grip system (including extended magwells), and a non-reciprocating optic rail, while taping out at 7.2 inches overall due to its 4-inch barrel. Height sans optics is 5.5 inches, while the width is 1.3 inches.

Using a gas-delayed blowback system, Laugo contends the Alien series has the lowest bore axis in the world, creating an "ultra-low recoil vector, minimizing muzzle rise and providing for lightning-fast follow-up shots on target." (Photos: Laugo)

The top rail is interesting and fully interchangeable, allowing the user to switch between iron sights or optics in seconds while maintaining zero.

The company intends to ship 500 limited first-edition sets of the Remus to America. These sets will include the pistol, two magazines (a flush 15 and an extended 17-rounder), optics plates for the RMRcc, RMS, and ACRO footprints, a holster, and lots of other goodies in a fitted hard case.

No word on the price (expect it to be above Staccato levels), but the Polenar Tactical had a chance to Czech out the new Alien Remus, and they have 11 minutes of details in the below video.
