Winchester is going all in on Ammo, Inc. and plans to fold its employees, plant, and lines into its ammunition offerings moving forward.
The Missouri-based Olin Corporation, which has long made Winchester-branded ammunition, announced last week that it had acquired Ammo's small caliber manufacturing assets for a purchase price of $75 million. The acquisition includes the latter's brass shell case capabilities and a new 185,000 sq. ft. production facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Founded in 2016, Ammo, Inc.'s sub-brands include Compete, Hunt, Jesse James, Signature, Stelth, and Streak. The company also manufactures pistol and rifle brass under Jagemann Munition Components. Traded on the NASDAQ stock market under the POWW symbol, Ammo filed an 8-K with the SEC covering the sale on Jan. 25.
"The Manitowoc assets will extend Winchester's leadership position and expand the reach and value of our near full integration," said Brett Flaugher, President of Winchester Ammunition. "The acquired assets will enable our legacy plants to lower costs of existing high-volume products and increase our ability to participate in higher margin specialty rounds at a cost advantage."
The transaction is subject to customary terms and conditions and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025.
