Holosun SHOT Show Highlights Include Digital Pistol Sight, IRIS Laser System
Holosun has become the optics company of the people, striving to bring quality optics at affordable prices. Over the past few years, the company has dropped some incredible optic innovations at SHOT Show, and 2025 might be its best year yet.
ARO

The first 2025 Holosun launch is the Advanced Rifle Optic, or simply the ARO. This is a sleeker version of the 403 and 503 optics. The ARO features a skeletonized mount, subdued logos, a side-loaded battery tray, side-mounted buttons, and a choice of multiple reticles for the dot.
ARO EVO
The next optic is the big brother to the ARO line, the ARO EVO (Evolve). This optic is slightly larger with flip-up caps and a kill flash mesh mounted to the front cap, which can easily be removed or installed.

This optic comes in two options: the SCRS solar charging system or the standard battery tray EVO. Both are mounted on the skeletonized mount. There are plans to offer the EVO with a built-in BDC reticle for easy holdovers.
AEMS Core

The new version of the AEMS Core holographic optic features Holosun’s new glass, which sees a 50-percent reduction in parallax. This is a standard 2-MOA dot with a rugged mount that has a standard wrench mount.
AEMS Pro
The AEMS Pro is a more premium version of the new AEMS Core. It also uses the new glass system and mount and includes a kill flash, flip-up caps, and a solar charging panel on top.
MP3X
Contrary to its name, no, this optic can’t play music. It still has a cool feature, as it is Holosun’s first prism optic. This is a fixed 3X-magnification optic that is meant to help shooters with astigmatism. Not to mention, it is great to see an etched reticle optic that does not rely solely on battery power.

The BDC reticle does have illumination, and the shooter can switch between green and red. There’s also a QD lever mount, making it quick and easy to move platforms. I had a chance to shoot this on the range and was very impressed with the reticle and the clarity of the glass.
DPS
This was one of the more interesting and talked about products on the show floor. (Photo: Holosun)
The new Digital Pistol Sight is a thermal optic system designed for a handgun. Much like the DRS-TH, this system features a standard red dot mounted on an optic cut, with a digital output device that mounts to the accessory rail. The optic can be used as a standard optic, or the front cover can be used in conjunction with the thermal imaging from the rail-mounted device. This provides a completely enclosed thermal system so users can identify targets in dark environments.

We had a chance to shoot this device on the range with Holosun, and it is impressive. On thermal reactive targets, you can clearly see the target and even pick up on the hot bullet holes as the handgun is shot. The DPS system is one of the first of its kind.
IRIS laser system
To me, the most exciting thing to see from Holosun is the realization of the IR concept that they teased at last year’s SHOT show. The new IRIS system is a series of lasers with four different iterations, perfect for shooting with night vision.
The number system denotes the features that each system includes, with the IRIS 1 and IRIS 2 being basic laser options. The IRIS 3 is now shipping and is more of the standard IR system. The unit includes an IR illuminator, an IR laser, and a visible laser, all of which run on a CR123 battery.
One of the key features of the IRIS 3 is the middle switch that allows the user to easily adjust the broadness and focus of the IR illuminator. The IRIS 3 has a setting switch mounted to the back, with options for visible, illuminator, and IR combinations with a crane switch that has separate switches for visible and IR.
The IRIS 4 has all the built-in features of the IRIS 3, in addition to a visible white light. The light is a 25,000-candela light source, and the idea is to keep all the necessary forward-mounted accessories in a single forward-mounted device that is lightweight.
PID Pro
The PID Pro is a pistol-mounted version of the IRIS 4 with a visible laser, white light, IR Illuminator, and IR laser. As night vision shooting becomes more popular, more shooters want to use their handguns with night vision while retaining the ability to have a light/laser combo.
The controls are arranged so the right-side switch is for visible options and the left is IR.
PID K
The PID K is a mini version of Holosun’s PID handgun light. It is more along the lines of the TLR7, allowing fitment on smaller handgun platforms. In fact, this 20,000-candela light has the same body design, so it will fit TLR7 holsters.
