Texas-based Rost Martin brought expansions of its RM1 pistol line to SHOT Show last month, the sub-compact RM1S and the RM1C Comped.
The company launched its flagship 9mm polymer-framed striker-fired handgun last year with the standard RM1C, which accepts CZ P10 mags and has a lot of similarities to the Arex Defense Delta Gen.2-- but is made in the U.S. We found it to shoot well and be dependable in our evaluations.
New for 2025 is a more cutdown variant, the RM1S, as well as the compensated RM1C Comped.
Rost Martin RM1S
The RM1S is a subcompact 9mm pistol platform featuring a 3.6-inch hammer-forged barrel.
Note the flat-faced trigger which offers a short reset and clean, crisp break, with an advertised trigger pull weight of under five pounds. (Photos and video: Ben Philippi/Guns.com)
A slight beaver tail allows for a higher hand grip, while the new front index finger contouring enables the user to “drive” the pistol for optimal accuracy and control. Note the old-school Tenifer treated slide.
The RM1S has fully ambidextrous controls along with aggressive front and rear slide serrations, a funneled magazine well for quicker and easier reloads, non-glare top slide serrations, and an optics-ready RMR cut.
Meanwhile, the sights are steel – not plastic – and are dovetailed into the slide with a common Springfield XD pattern. The pistol also accepts pistol lights on the full three-slot Picatinny rail.
Each RM1S is supplied with both a 12-round flush magazine and a 15-round extended magazine for a carrying capacity of 12+1 and 15+1, respectively. MSRP is $469.
The Rost Martin RM1C Comped
The updated RM1C keeps everything the public loved on the standard model and adds an integral compensator specifically designed for the platform.
The optic-ready slide is equipped with a 4-inch hammer-forged match barrel featuring a single port to diminish felt recoil, enhancing control and accuracy.
The frame features an aggressive responsive grip texturing, complemented by its flat face trigger with a short reset, and fully ambi controls.
The RM1C Comped ships standard with a flush-fit 15-round magazine and a 17-round extended magazine. MSRP is $489.
