A 50th anniversary is a big deal, and Burris is celebrating in style. The company unveiled a fully redesigned line of Fullfield optics at SHOT Show. Burris’ bread-and-butter riflescope family enters its fifth iteration, right in time for the optic maker’s five-decade commemoration.
The revamped family shows neat features and by far the most compact metrics, and that’s not all Burris had on display in Vegas.
Redesigned Fullfield Scopes
The fifth generation of the Fullfield riflescope family shifts to lighter, shorter, and more streamlined numbers. The new design features a red Burris accent ring along with high-relief knurling. There’s an improved 4X zoom system for a large field of view at close range and better target acquisition at longer distances.

The major difference, though, is the move to the all-new Burris Knob Synergy System, which introduces modular elevation adjustment. What that means is a customizable setup. Shooters will be able to upgrade with custom ballistic knobs and zero click-stop options. Of course, the high-performance glass and coatings we’ve come to known from Burris keep pace as well. All Fullfield scopes are built with a rear or second focal plane design.
The Fullfield family saw a slew of upgrades, most notably the all-new Burris Knob Synergy System, which introduces modular elevation adjustment.
As of SHOT Show, the revamped Fullfield family is shipping in six optical ranges across 15 full model variants. Both standard and illuminated reticles are available, with reticle choices from the basic Plex to multiple MOA and BDC styles. Debut models include:
2-8x35mm
2.5-10x42mm
3-12x42mm
3-12x56mm
4-16x50mm
6-24x50mm
FastFire E
Though overshadowed by the expansive family of riflescopes lining the company’s booth, the new FastFire deserves a look. The FastFire E is the company’s first fully enclosed emitter reflex sight. Fully adjustable windage and elevation ranges feature 100 MOA of adjustment, and an Aimpoint ACRO footprint makes for simple mounting.

The “always-on” 3.5 MOA dot – either red or green – touts instant readiness with a 60,000-hour life on the CR2032 battery. Its compact footprint makes it ideal for pistols, shotguns, and even carbine use. A few display rifles in the company’s booth were creatively outfitted with the FastFire E as a handy backup in addition to a standard riflescope. MSRP is set at $420.
XTR PS
Burris also introduced the XTR PS, a dedicated precision competition long-range riflescope. The XTR PS draws from technology found on Burris’s hunt-specific Veracity PH piece and moves that into a format for precision competition shooters.
The XTR PS was displayed on a patriotic-themed AR from Black Rain Ordnance. Note the FastFire E mounted piggyback.
There’s a Programmable Elevation Knob, onboard HUD data center, internal timer, and much more. The micro-adjustable clickless turrets offer 1/30 MIL accuracy. The XTR PS is launching in two configurations: 3-18x50 and 5.5-30x56. MSPR starts at $2,400.
Final Thoughts
One thing is certain after cruising the SHOT Show floor: riflescopes are becoming noticeably shorter and lighter. The fifth-gen Fullfield series certainly keeps with that trend, and Burris continues to show innovation with the FastFire E and the competition-driven XTR PS.
Since the company’s inception in 1971, Burris has been a leader in the areas of riflescopes, handgun scopes, rings, and mounts. In more recent years, many other products have been added, including red dots, rangefinders, binoculars, sporting scopes, and thermals. We look forward to seeing what else Burris has in store.
