Springfield Armory expanded its Saint Victor line with a handy new large-format pistol chambered in 5.56mm NATO today. The company’s Saint Victor rifles all offer premium features right out of the box, and that extends to the new large-format pistol.

It sports an 11.5-inch 1:7-twist barrel made from corrosion-resistant chrome moly vanadium and tipped with a classic A2 birdcage-style flash hider. At a fitting 5.56 pounds, the lightweight Saint Victor Pistol still hosts a full-length Picatinny rail up top for optics, lights, and lasers.

M-LOK slots and forward QD mounts along the free-float handguard keep the rest of the gun nice and trim but still accessory-ready.

“The new Saint Victor Pistol in 5.56mm adds yet another layer of capability to the Saint Victor line,” said Steve Kramer, vice president of marketing for Springfield Armory. “Offering compact handling combined with the ballistic performance capabilities of its 11.5-inch barrel, this new Saint is built for performance in tight spaces.”

Under the hood, this new AR pistol runs a carbine-length direct-impingement gas system that’s pinned and adjustable. An enhanced M16 bolt made from 9310 steel that’s both high-pressure tested and magnetic particle-inspected runs inside the forged 7075 T6 aluminum upper receiver. That upper boasts M4 feed ramps, and the forged lower hosts a nickel-boron-coated flat trigger. (Image: Springfield Armory)

The ambidextrous safety selector offers a 45-degree short throw for faster engagement and more natural ergonomics. Other features rounding out the newest member of the Saint Victor line include a nifty QD mount on the receiver end plate, a set of flip-up sights, an M-LOK hand stop, and one 30-round Magpul PMAG Gen M3 magazine.

MSRP on the new large-format pistol starts at $1,150, which keeps it on the lower end for cost of the Saint Victor family. That family has rapidly grown and now includes everything from foldable rifles and pistol-caliber carbines to harder-hitting caliber options in .308 Win/7.62 NATO.
