Tennessee-based Smith & Wesson this week announced it will give the popular new Bodyguard 2.0 the Performance Center Carry Comp treatment for 2025.

Introduced last July as an update to its decade-old 6+1 .380 caliber Bodyguard pistol, the new Bodyguard 2.0 maintained the same general dimensions and caliber while switching actions to become a striker-fired gun. Improvements from the legacy model included an ergonomic design that ditched the finger grooves and added slide serrations along almost the entire length of the slide, a flat-face trigger, and a higher magazine capacity,  boasting a 10+1 round flush-fit mag and a 12+1 extended mag.

We reviewed it and gave the new 2.0 high marks for the added capacity, and updated ergos, as well as its much better trigger while still being easy to carry and discreet.

Well, Smith has upped the game with the new Performance Center Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp, which includes a ported 3.1-inch barrel, Ameriglo Protector LumiGreen front Night Sights, and a Gray Armornite finish.

Smith says the strategically designed Power-Port compensator located at the end of the barrel, at the twelve o’clock position, diverts gas upwards, reducing felt recoil, which in turn improves overall control. (Photos: S&W)
As with the standard S&W Bodyguard 2.0, the new Performance Center Carry Comp version is a micro compact .380 pistol with an overall height of 4 inches, a width just under 1 inch, and an overall length of just 5.85 inches due to its 3.1-inch stainless steel barrel. It weighs in at 11.8 ounces unloaded.

The new Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 Performance Center Carry Comp 380 ships with one flush-fit 10-round and one extended 12-round magazine, or two 10s in restricted states, and will be available in variants with and without a manual thumb safety. The MSRP is $549 across the board, which is about a hundo north of the standard uncompensated models.
