B&T Importing Phoenix Drake and Redback Swiss-made Pistols
Tampa-based B&T USA is importing a series of high-performance optics-ready competition pistols that are hand-crafted in Interlaken, Switzerland, to strict tolerances.
A "CZ75-inspired platform" with Sphinx lineage, the 4.5-inch barreled Phoenix Redback and the 5-inch Phoenix Drake are both double-action/single-action 9mm pistols that feature cold-hammer-forged polygonal barrels, zero-play slide-to-frame interface on full-length rails, ambi safety levers, full-length dust covers, and triggers that use tri-angled geometry. They are easily optimized for IPSC Standard and Production divisions.
Both models will be offered in an all-black color or with a two-tone Ionbond CVD coating, and ship with four 17/18-round magazines.
Drake
Endurance-tested past 120,000 rounds, the Drake has a steel frame and pairs a polymer recoil buffer with a modified Browning cam-track lockup. It has target sights and, with a 5-inch barrel, runs 8.86 inches overall length. The unloaded eight is 46.56 ounces and uses 18-round Tanfoglio LF magazines.
The Drake is also offered in an all-black SAO variant with a flat-faced trigger.
Redback
The Redback Gen 2 has a quick-change optic-plate system that swaps from irons (fiber-optic or serrated target sights) to red dot sight in under a minute without losing zero, while palm-swell or slim G10 grips, ambidextrous safeties in multiple widths, an optional gas pedal, and magwell kits tailor the pistol to Production, Carry Optics, Limited Minor, and 3-Gun divisions. Using a 4.5-inch barrel, it has an 8.31-inch overall length. Weight is 39.75 ounces, and it uses 17-round CZ magazines.
"These pistols embody the discipline and detail that define Swiss firearms manufacturing," said Chris Mudgett, VP of Marketing B&T USA. "The Redback and Drake are built for shooters who demand excellence yet require longevity and reliability."
Both models are now shipping, with the Drake running $6,000-$6,450 and the Redback $5,450-$5,800, depending on finish.
