Florida-based KelTec this week debuted the improved second generation of its KS7 12-gauge shotgun.
The KS7 was introduced in 2019 as a simplified and handier single-tube variant of its well-liked but admittedly bulky KSG pump-action, bullpup-design shotgun. Gen 2 upgrades include an integrated five-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail on the underside for vertical grips and other accessories, a smoother pump action, improved ergonomics, and enhanced durability.
Optics-ready with a standard top Picatinny rail, the KS7 Gen 2 will be offered in black, tan, and olive drab.
The big update is the underside Pic rail, which allows for lights, lasers, vert grips, coffee makers, chainsaws, whatever. (Photo: KelTec)
At 6.8 pounds unloaded, the KS7 Gen 2 is one of the lightest 12-gauge bullpup shotguns available. It has a 6+1 (3-inch) or 7+1 (2.75-inch) capacity and an overall length of 26.1 inches with an 18.5 inch barrel. (Photo: KelTec)
"KelTec is driven by the pursuit of practical innovation," said Matt Stanek, KelTec's Marketing Manager. "With the KS7 Gen 2, we’ve refined a proven shotgun into a more versatile and capable platform without losing the simplicity that made it so popular."
The MSRP on the new KelTec KS7 Gen 2 is $639. As for availability, it is listed as "shipping soon."
