Angstadt Releases New Vanquish AR-22 Integrally Suppressed Barrel
North Carolina-based Angstadt Arms this week announced a drop-in compatible suppressed rimfire AR barrel to the market based on its Vanquish system.
The company has marketed its popular Vanquish 10/22 suppressed barrels for a minute, and Rich Angstadt told Guns.com that a variant of the same baffle-free ported barrel design, made specifically for AR-22s, just made sense.
"Shooters have been asking for a suppressed AR-22 solution that doesn't compromise on accuracy, sound performance, or reliability – and the Vanquish AR-22 delivers," said Angstadt. "We designed it to give AR-format rimfire shooters the same whisper-quiet, low-maintenance experience that Vanquish users on the Ruger 10/22 platform already enjoy."
The Vanquish AR-22 will be offered in both 12 and 18-inch formats, each with a 0.92-inch bull barrel contour. The ported barrels are 416R with a 6061-aluminum shroud and a black Cerakote finish. They have a Sporter chamber, are full-auto rated, and use a CMMG dedicated .22LR bolt. Angstadt says the barrel ports are tuned to bring standard-velocity .22 LR rounds to subsonic speeds for maximum suppression without having to use subsonic ammo.
