Falco Holster Saves Gun from Vehicle Fire, Company Offers Customer Help
Onetime falconry glove maker turned high-quality holster manufacturer Falco has offered assistance to a customer whose vehicle, firearm, and holster were engulfed in a gasoline-fueled explosion recently.
Customer Brett G’s truck was the victim of the explosion, which also landed Brett in the hospital for an extended stay. The truck itself was a total loss. Yet, somehow, his Stoeger STR-9, equipped with a gun light stored inside a leather Falco A122 holster, survived the blaze largely intact.

The Falco holster shielded the pistol’s slide and light from the explosion and subsequent inferno. Brett spent 65 days in the hospital recovering from the incident. He was shocked to learn that his firearm survived the ordeal.
“I was very impressed when I heard that the pistol in the pickup that burnt up was salvageable,” Brett shared. “It shoots fine, the light was reusable – just needed the grip cleaned and a new mag.”

When Falco Holsters heard about Brett’s incident, the company offered to replace the now-charred A122 holster with any holster of Brett’s choosing.
“Our full-grain Italian leather combined with old-world craftsmanship has proven to be durable enough to protect the firearm even in hell-like conditions,” said Martin Lukáčko, marketing manager at Faclo Holsters. “We were grateful to hear that Brett recovered to share his story, and we were honored that our IWB holster played a role in preserving his firearm. Providing him with a new holster was the least we could do.”
