Alpha Foxtrot Offers a 1911 to Fit Every Shooter’s Preference
Fans of the iconic, all-American 1911 design should get to know Alpha Foxtrot. This Georgia-based company manufactures high-end firearms that are built to impress, and Guns.com recently received a shipment of several Alpha Foxtrot handguns that we’re excited to show you. Here’s a closer look.
The first set of handguns on the list represents the most modern adaptation of John Moses Browning’s incredible handgun design. The AF1911 Romulus is a double-stack 9mm that features the ergonomics of the 1911 paired with increased capacity and modern accoutrements.

These 2011-style handguns come in a 5-inch or 4.25-inch configuration. The Romulus series features textured grips and a beveled magazine well designed to accept 2011-pattern magazines. Each handgun includes one 17-round and one 20-round magazine.
The slides feature forward and rear cocking serrations, and the rear is patterned to accept an RMR-pattern plate for optics. The barrel is accompanied by a built-in compensator, designed to reduce the overall felt recoil and get the handgun back on target faster.
The Romulus sports a built-in compensator, beavertail safety, and RMR-pattern optics plate.
The grip is well textured to aid in controlling the handgun.
This handgun series also features a tactical rail for mounting accessories and a flat trigger with a light break and a short reset. This design is perfect for anyone looking for a quality 2011 that is built to tight tolerances, with no slop or slack in the parts.
AF1911 Standard
On the opposite end of the spectrum from the 2011-style Romulus, Alpha Foxtrot offers the AF1911 Standard – a classic .45 ACP-chambered 1911 without the modern frills. The design features the backstrap safety, an eight-round magazine capacity, and a simple blackout rear to white dot front sight.
The Standard model is more like what you'd expect from a classic 1911.
The grips are aggressively textured, and you'll find front slide serrations and an ambi thumb safety on the Standard.
The only modern features of the AF1911 Standard are the aggressively textured grips, front slide serrations, and an ambidextrous thumb safety.
The AF1911-E is also chambered in the classic 1911 cartridge of .45 ACP.
The AF1911-E is another .45 ACP 1911 with a few modern features. This design includes a tac rail and night sights, while still delivering the same caliber and ergonomics of the classic 1911.
AF1911 Enhanced
The AF1911 Enhanced is a more modern take on the century-old design. This 1911 is chambered for the more common 9mm cartridge, offering the classic ergonomics of the 1911 with the lower recoil and cheaper price tag of the 9mm cartridge.
The AF1911 Enhanced models feature a tactical rail, ambi safety, front and rear slide serrations, night sights, and a 10-round magazine.
There are several different models in this line. Each features a tac rail, ambidextrous safety, rear and front slide serrations, night sights, and a standard 10-round capacity. This line features those aggressive textured grips, a bull barrel, and the standard 1911 ergonomics that make it such an easy design to master.
The AF1911 Enhanced variants include choices of a matte finish, a stainless barrel, a threaded barrel, and shorter tanker cut options.
As far as the different models go, there is a little something for everyone. There’s an AF1911 Enhanced with a matte finish, and another with a threaded barrel. Another model features a shorter barrel, like a tanker cut, or you can get one with a stainless-steel barrel.
AF1911-S15
The AF1911-S15 might be the most intriguing handgun of this lot, as it is a smaller, compact-size 1911 that feeds from Shield Arms 15-round magazines. The Shield Arms magazine is designed for the thin Glock 43X and Glock 48, making it perfect for fitting into the slim design of the 1911 while maximizing capacity.
The 9mm AF1911-S15 uses a 15-round Shield Arms magazine.
This AF1911 features a 4.04-inch threaded barrel with a light aluminum frame and a tac rail for mounting accessories. The slide features front and rear serrations and is cut for an RMSc-pattern red dot.
The S15 features a threaded barrel, tac rail, slide serrations, and is optics ready.
The size, weight, and capacity of this 9mm 1911-style handgun make it perfect for anyone looking for a modern concealed carry gun that bears the legacy of the all-American 1911 design.
