Banish 556: New Full-Auto-Rated Flowthrough AR Suppressor
Banish launched a new AR-focused 5.56/.223 suppressor this week, built with the company’s most advanced manufacturing techniques and rated for full-auto fire. The Banish 556 uses controlled-flow technology that promises to reduce backpressure while providing excellent sound and flash suppression, all with no barrel length restrictions. Plus, the can is just 6.3 inches long and weighs 15.6 ounces.

Note the helical vent pattern. The Banish 556 measures 6.3 inches long and weighs less than a pound.
It’s billed as the “most advanced 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem suppressor on the market.” The design takes into account “everything we have learned about materials, manufacturing, and the dynamic movement of pressurized gas through suppressors,” Banish CEO Brandon Maddox said in a Tuesday news release.
Both metal additive manufacturing, which is similar to 3D printing, and traditional machining go into creating the new Banish can’s stainless-steel blast chamber and Inconel body. This allows for more baffles – nine in total – and increased chamber volume, which combine with a helical vent pattern to slow and redirect gas.
It features an industry-standard HUB mount and includes a 1/2x28 direct-thread adapter.
